Sifu David/Dragon Escrima
David Sifu began martial arts at age 12 first practicing Judo at Tenri Dojo in East Los Angeles. At age 15 he began Karate with Takayuki Kubota of the International Karate Association in Glendale, Ca. In his late teens, David began boxing competitively and earned a spot on the Los Angeles Golden Gloves Team. Under coaches Johnny Flores and World Champion Mando Ramos at the LA Youth Athletic Club, he trained with future Olympians, World title challengers and fought in international competition.

David left competitive boxing when he moved for college. David then began training at Ashihara Karate in Gardena, CA. David trained under 2-time world champion, Makoto Yoshida-Hirohara, former 2x World Sabaki Champion, Tokyo Head instructor, under the famed Hideyuki Ashihara. David became Hirohara's top American student before Hirohara returned home to Hiroshima to establish his own system, Shintaiikudo. Hirohara requested David to represent his new system in the USA. David stay in Japan at Hirohara's residence in Hiroshima to learn the new system. Upon returning to the US, David ran the LA Shintaiikudo Dojo. David was featured in three Japanese Shintaiikudo instructional DVDs, US DVDs and taught at the HQ dojo in Hiroshima. David also taught Kickboxing at Bodies in Motion Gym with Kickboxing Champions Kathy Long and Mauricio Gonzalez.

David began studying Wing Chun in 2004 as a closed door student of Sifu Gary Lam later becoming a Sifu Disciple under Sifu Franco Lung. David also began FMA training in memory of his cousin Gary Quan, a SOG LAMECO backyard member. David is a certified Escrima Guro currently teaching Escrima at Franco Lung Wing Chun.
